Styles for What's New and Events Blocks?

I'm trying to change the bullet style for the What's New and Events blocks, and I can't figure out where to do so. Where can I find the code that is styling these lists? It doesn't seem to be in style.css.

(I'm using GL 1.4.1 with a Tabular Dynamics theme)

I was sure I had found an answer in listitem.thtml, but adding a style to that just broke all the links Frown

Any advice anyone? I'd love to declutter and not include the long events block on each page, but my readers really like it there for convenience.
