I have the block "Older Stories" enabled on my site but the block does no show, what am I missing to turn this on.

You need enough stories for it to show up. For example, if your site is configured to display 10 stories on the front page, you need at least 11 stories. The Older Stories block effectively lists the next 10 stories after the one on the front page.
