when i try to download the latest version of geeklog, I get a message saying 'error processing header after reading 0 entries'...
what in the world does that mean?
can i find really really really really basic installation instructions, because i am not particularly amazing with computers and dont understand any of the technical terminology i keep bumping into.
thank you.

Where do you get that error? Here on the site or when you try to unpack the file on your computer?
For alternative installation instructions, see Alternative installation instructions.

It happens as soon as i click 'download' for the latest version of geeklog.
I also wanted to find out whether geeklog can be installed with free website hosts like 2ip. If not, what can i use thats free?
because i am unable to finance my own website

Sorry, never seen that error before. Did you try another browser or some downloading tool?
As for the requirements: What are the system requirements for Geeklog?
bye, Dirk

PHP is a programming language - Geeklog is written in PHP,
MySQL is a database - Geeklog keeps all the stories, user data, etc. in the database
These things are usally offered by hosting services. So check with the hosting service you want to use - they should have a page somewhere listing what they have.
If by "2ip", which you mentioned above, you meant 2ip.com, then their offerings don't seem to include a database (or PHP, for that matter): http://www.2ip.com/faq.php#14
But webhosting that includes all that's required for Geeklog is really cheap nowadays ...

Yep, stonerocket.net seems to offer everything that's needed. They do also have Fantastico, which is an auto-installer for Geeklog. So you should be able to install Geeklog there with a few clicks.
I have to wonder, though, how services like this can afford to offer all that for free.
There's also this odd requirement:

How To Get Free Hosting?
To qualify for free web hosting from Stonerocket all we ask you join our popular community forums "over 4500 registered users" and make an initial 10 non-spam post`s on our forums. (takes 5 - 15 minutes)
This is a one off posting requirement - No monthly posting limit enforced...

Yes, i was extremely confused by this wierd request too.
So i attempted to sign up to the forums and i thought i would just send off ten consecutive posts for free - only signing up is so annoyingly complicated...
