On the french geeklog site - http://www.geeklog.fr/cms/index.php there is an excellent little hack / plugin that allows you to hide the left block, I would like to use this on the site that I am updating, only problem is - I cannot find it anywhere
(yeah I know it's probably a custom piece of code).
Anyhows...
A search here found a hack called toggle block - http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=58195 but the download link is dead.
Does anyone have a copy? or know of something similar?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers for the reply Dirk.
Does Blane still frequent these forums or should I ask this question elsewhere?

Update...
I manually installed the plugin following the included instructions - I renamed the included theme beforehand (just in case). with the exception of one or two blocks it all works. There are a few small issues with the layout (looks like css issues - probably nothing too drastic to fix).
off to a good start

The unique elementId's are generated by the {block_title} - so if the block title has an apostrophe or other special character it breaks the script.( a simple character replace script could fix this issue)
So "Who's online" should be "Who is online" ...
It contained a complete professional theme for gl 1.3.xx so if you follow the theme upgrade docs, all should be fine.

Yup - this fixed the problem.

Another Update....
I've managed to mod the 1.4 professional theme to do what I need (which is only to show / hide the complete right or left column this just required modifications to header.thtml + footer.thtml + leftblocks.thtml + rightblocks.thtml - I have these files if anyone wants them - simply use them in your 1.4 professional theme in place of the complete 1.3 theme supplied with the mod. (I would post them here but there's no way to do so).
Whilst the 1.3 theme included appears to generally work, ideally the mods for showing / hiding each individual block need to be carried over to the current professional theme as there are some css issues + a brief look through the theme files shows some extensive changes between 1.3 - 1.4 themes
