Specified upload directory is not a valid directory

New install of 1.4.1 using GoDaddy's install from Hosting Connection. I upgraded my 1.3.9sr1 database using the install.php from the tarball (GoDaddy removes the Admin/install).
My site appears to work fine until I try to save a new story. Then I get the following error:
Specified upload directory, /home/content/s/m/o/smokeymonkey/html/blog/files//images/articles is not a valid directory.
I'm really new to php, but this story has no images. Why is it looking for that directory?
Some background: /blog/ is the public_html, while /blog/files/ is the rest of the system. I have not password protected the files directory yet as the install readme suggests for security purposes. There is no /images/articles directory in that location, but I'm not sure where to change what setting.
Thanks for any help.
Ryan

If you don't plan on using uploaded images in articles ever, you could set
$_CONF['maximagesperarticle'] = 0;
in your config.php. Otherwise, simply create that directory and make sure it's writable.
bye, Dirk

Thanks, Dirk.
Creating the directory worked just fine.
