Please adjust the page title for a next version to this order, according to the fact if it's a story URL etc:
Story Title | Topic Name | Site Name
Static Page Title | Topic Name | Site Name
Static Page Title | Site Name
Topic Name | Site Name
Site Name | Site Slogan
This way the site will not even get better in SERP's, but the searchresult will show the Story Title which will attract more visitors. The Meta description would have to show the introtext or the first xx words from a static page to make it even more perfect.
Plugins should also always produce a SEO friendly page title!

Hey, we could throw in the article text, while we're at it ...
Seriously, I think that's just overkill. The CVS version (i.e. Geeklog 1.5) puts the individual page title first now (title of article, topic, whatever) and there are patches somewhere in the forum so that you can have that in 1.4.1.
Any more than that borders on keyword stuffing, IMO. Plus, think of the user - what good would the topic name (next to the article title) be for the average visitor?
bye, Dirk

Well, how about the new Google search results like this: http://www.google.nl/search?q=kampeerzaken.nl ? You now get separate results for each topic just below the first result. People will now click on the topic they want in Google so the topic title is quite important. It's not all about SERP's, the CTR in the searchresults is important too.
Did you read this as well: http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors ?
