This is what happens in error.log

MySQL server has gone away. SQL in question: UPDATE gl2_vars SET value = value + 1 WHERE name = 'totalhits'


What does this mean?

And on my site this is written after sending emails

An SQL error has occurred. Please see error.log for details.

Please help

go to logs/error.log and read/post the last few lines. They should explain the problem.

What it says: The MySQL server died halfway through the SQL request. If that happens often, talk to your hosting service.
