The portal block I created today for Shrednow (http://www.shrednow.com - bottom right block) is displaying as an unordered list, but I'd prefer to display the items with simple line breaks. I can't locate where to change this formatting.
Second question. If I wanted to give a credit to the feed I'm using, would I need to add that extra text using a custom block footer?

The ul tag for portal blocks has a class="list-feed" attached - that should give you some limited control over the appearance.
For the credits, a custom block footer is the way to go (see the $_BLOCK_TEMPLATE code in functions.php).
