As you may know, you can use avatars provided by Gravatar for the userphotos in Geeklog.

Two weeks ago, Gravatar rolled out a new feature called "identicons". Effectively, it creates a random but unique avatar for users who didn't bother to create and upload an avatar or userphoto.

Identicons are also available from Geeklog. So if you want to replace that generic blue/white Gravatar icon that shows up for users without an avatar with something more unique, try either of these in your config.php:
(note that the 'default_photo' option is commented out by default!).
