Something weird is happening with the way passwords are being handled.
I'm able to log in at the root and change the basic password for this account. But, for some reason that's not making it down to the FTP password.
I can create a new user account with a new login and password that gives me FTP access to the account for everything past the public_html folder, but for some reason the changes I'm making at the root level are not taking effect for the FTP basic account.
Any ideas or suggestions? At this point I can't get into the account.

I have no idea. I only know that I can log onto the root account at my server, change the basic passwords for the account, and access the account files through CPanel.
But for some reason (don't know why) now the FTP account does not recognize the user/password combination.
I have successfully managed to change the password several times using the root login, and that new password combination works fine when accessing the site CPanel. But, those changes are not making it to the FTP management.
Not possibly a Geeklog issue? OK, I'll check with the host who manages the server. Thanks.

Contact your host, this has nothing to do with Geeklog. The Geeklog passwords are stored in the database.

Yup. Sure enough. They just reset the script that's supposed to coordinate password changes at the root level, and as soon as they did that it came back to life. Fixed, and had nothing to do with upgrading to GL 1.5 - but you know how it is. When you're in the middle of an upgrade and things start going wrong the first suspect is the new software...
Anyway, thanks again. Still plugging along with the upgrade. I wanted to do a few smaller sites to get some experience with the beta release before the final comes out. So far, so good.
