sorry really silly question on changing header
I'm unclear of what is what............ At the top where it says "geeklog", and a blue bar across the top, how do I change the name from geeklog to our own name? Is that config file??

Do you mean the Geeklog logo? That's an image. If you mean in the title bar of your browser window, that's the site title and can be changed in the configuration.
Dutch Geeklog sites about camping/hiking:

Note - this is not much different from the FAQ information behind the link that Dirk has provided above, just a variation on a theme. This sat in my browser most of the day, and I see after submitting that he has also responded.
Advice is more easily rendered if you can provide me with your distribution (Geeklog or other) and version, and what theme is currently selected.
Assuming you are working with the professional theme in Geeklog 1.4.1, look for the following code to change in /public_html/layout/professional (around line 25):
<img src="{site_logo}" width="151" height="56" alt="{site_name}"{xhtml}>
This can be replaced with a directive to load your own logo, eg. upload a logo image to /public_html/images, let's call it mylogo.gif (better if it is a transparent .gif, BTW), make a note of it's X/Y dimensions, and then change this line to read:
<img src=/images/mylogo.gif width=X height=Y alt="{site_name}"{xhtml}>
(Replace X with the horizontal dimension of your .gif in pixels, and Y with the vertical dimension) If you're using the Caching Template Library hack, don't forget to clear the template cache.
If you're using Geeklog 1.4.1, you may also want to consider using the "Chameleon" theme plugin here, it is based upon the professional theme, provides an alternative CSS-based layout, includes a nice menu feature, and allows you to easily manipulate the header logo and presentation as well as other aspects of the site.
Have fun!
