I was wondering if there's any way to have stories also show when they were last updated/edited not just when they were initially posted. It seems like it should be default behavior to show when something was updated but I don't see any settings to enable it. If it's not a setting does anyone know a hack?

Geeklog doesn't keep track of the changed date. I guess your only options are to either update the story's time and date or to add a note in the story text.

So what would it take to have a feature like that added? It seems like it's been requested before and would make a lot of sense to have.

1) It may be possible to write a plugin for this by hooking into PLG_itemSaved. That plugin would have to store the changed time/date in a separate table.

2) Submit a feature request and hope for the best.

To increase the chances for #2, it usually helps to submit patches. Or put up a bounty for it. Or just try to find enough other people that also want that feature ...
