Group edit rights for non admins?

Is it possible for a group to have edit rights even if the group is aregular group and its members are regular users?
For example, image topic X gives group edit rights to group Y, which is a group without topic admins.

If I understand you correctly, then the answer is "yes".
You can create a new group (give it any name you want). Ignore the "Security Groups" section in the Groups editor and just choose the rights you want to assign from the "Rights" section. Then assign users to that new group.

What I meant: entering topic X and giving edit rights to group Y...while group Y have no story edit permissions.
I can see now it is NOT possible, because you get blocked from accessing the topic menu itself even though in theory you're supposed to be able to edit a specific topic.
