Hi,

tried to install but after adding all the info regarding database connection etc, when click next, this error comes out

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /v2/admin/install/index.php could not be found on this server.

Try one method which I get it from here
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=197290

It says to create a .htaccess file contain

<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

but still not able to install. Help really needed. Thx

Seem I have found the reason and solution for this, now having another minor problem, can anyone tell me which file is the main config file where I can set the url of my sites?

Thanks

So what was it? From your description, it didn't sound like it was anything in Geeklog itself.

The URL is set in the Configuration admin panel. You enter it in the install script on the first setup. It is then stored in the database, not in a file.

Did you try going to http://www.dailyfxtrade.com/v2/admin/configuration.php directly and fixing the URL there?

Hi,

I cant even access the admin site. But thx anyway, I configure the data through SQL manually and seems to work. Btw, thx for your time.

For the error 406 I have earlier, I believe geeklog need to modify the installation process. Some of Apache servers seems to have a security function which blocks any url that send data contain another url.

Example:

http://www.xxxxx.com/admin/install/index.php?siteurl=http://xyxyxyxy.com

what I did is remove the http:// and just let the xyxyxyxy.com in the link. maybe geeklog can post data using form function instead of using url to post the variables.

Dirk,
Thanks for support that you keep giving to users. keep up the good work.

Adios~~

Sounds like mod_security. I'm beginning to think that module is causing more trouble than it's intended to prevent ...

We are actually running the URLs through urlencode() which I hope would let them pass through mod_security. Need to double check, though (both that we do it everywhere and that it actually has the intended effect ...).

bye, Dirk
