Hello support,

I have a GL 1.5 website which was a upgrade from a virgin GL 1.4, basically I installed it by my providers install script, and found it was not the latest version so upgraded, after the installation I installed the forum plugin 2.7 no problem what so ever.

Only now I have the problem that nobody can post anything in the forum, the log file says preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: missing terminating ] for character class at offset 5 @ home/myhosting/public_html/domain/plugins/spamx/BlackList.Examine.class.php line 72

I have no idea what it means, so I'm hoping somebody knows more.....

Note that the entries in the Spam-X blacklists are really regular expressions, so some characters have a special meaning.

In your case, you seem to have a stray ] in one of your blacklist entries that's causing the problem. If you want to check for a closing square bracket, it needs to be escaped as \] (backslash + square bracket).
