Size of story question

A friend is thinking of setting up a Geeklog site. He would like to know how large a story can be. Like can you put a whole book in the content section?

Assuming you are using mysql, the default size of the introtext and bodytext fields in gl_stories is TEXT which can hold 64KB. You would have to change the definition (either in the SQL directory before installation or through a normal SQL ALTER TABLE afterwards) to MEDIUMTEXT (16M
or LONGTEXT (4G.
If you are using mssql, it is not possible using the current code.
