Hello,
I am looking for someone that can upgrade my site. I need the following:
- version upgrade to 1.5
- re-implementation of custom code (SEO-friendly links, removal of calendar, etc.)
- redesign of custom theme in css-based layout
- migration of phpbb2 to geeklog forum plugin
I might have some small additional items alter on.
If you can send me a message and give me a quote for this work, I'd appreciate it.
thanks

removal of calendar
That requires clicking a checkbox now that the Calendar is a plugin
I'd be interested to hear what sort of "SEO-friendly links" you'd need.
bye, Dirk
P.S. That's a general question - I'm not available for the job ...

Your topic links aren't standard Geeklog indeed. But you also need a new PHPBB bridge, and that isn't available at the moment....
Dutch Geeklog sites about camping/hiking:
www.kampeerzaken.nl | www.campersite.nl | www.caravans.nl | www.caravans.net

Yep, thats a tweak of mine I added a long time ago so google would more readily crawl those pages. I also made sure that every URL to an article was consistent throughout the site so google wouldn't see two duplicates of the same page.
I was going to migrate to the GL Forum plugin... but now I'm thinking about un-integrating the forum from the site and going with phpbb3.

If you're not planning to change the topics often, you can accomplish this with a normal html block with the correct links, and a url_rewrite in .htacces.
BTW like your theme!

I have killed phpbbbridge with no issues. Easy to do - make sure any related blocks/plugins are disabled/deleted. Install phpbb3 in a separate directory. Run the phpbb3 convert script. Luckily the phpbbbridge synced the accounts tables between geeklog and phpbb, so after this your forum will still be accessible by your users, but going forward registrations will be specific to each.
Next week, I'm starting the upgrade to 1.5.0.
