Upload max size - images in stories

confused
Ok, one of these inquiries I have posted a question on - images in stories.
I have searched all the faq's in this forum, old post and so on and have very little to help me with this simple problem.
I can edit my stories in dreamweaver in insert an image, upload the image, correct the path to the image to reflect my host and there is still no image. I have an <img> tag that I should be able to use but still can't.
Fckeditor and image upload does not work neither, I do not understand this problem neither. I can upload an image to my folder on the server but when I access it to the story, no image.
I really would like an image option, and to be able to make it somewhat easy for logged-in users to utilize this option.
any help is appreciated on this issue.

I can upload up to 7.99MB in myuploads plugin but need to be able to upload larger .pdf files, like small books.
any idea how I may do this? Is there a setting in myuploads .config file that I can change? I have searched but really can't find a direct setting for this option. I have also increased my php.ini file to reflect this also.

I know this sounds like a lot to ask but I have nearly exausted all my options, plus I am working on this in between classes, homework, and test. so I can not devote all my time to my site.

thanks, tim

do you have install Media Gallery plugin for Geeklog 1.5.1? if not yet, give it a try and don't forget to install media gallery browser plugin too. because we use this plugin to insert the image to the story.

I am have no problem with Image upload in Geeklog 1.5.1.

make sure you go to: >>>Configuration (Admin block)>>>Image>>>Image in Articles>>>set to whatever you like the "width=900 height=800" and >>>save.

that's it.

It's a bit confusing, so bear with me for a moment ...

For security reasons, Geeklog doesn't allow the <img> tag by default. See the FAQ for how to enable it.

FCKeditor allows you to upload images but it also needs the <img> tag for that to work. That should be enabled automatically when you enable the Advanced Editor but it currently doesn't do that. That's a bug.

And finally, you can upload images in Geeklog's story editor and use the [imageX] tags there. That doesn't require the <img> tag.

Those are the options you have built into Geeklog. For other file types, like PDFs, you would need to use a plugin. Your options are MediaGallery and the File Management plugin, depending on what exactly you intend to do with the files.

In Configuration/admin/images/, is it necessary to have imagemagic, or gdlib, unstalled? I know that I do not have imagemagic, or is it ok to have this option set to none.

as far as mediagallery, and myuploads (filemgmt) both of these are installed. I use filemgmt for my pdf files but I am only allowed up to 8MB.
How do I increase the file size in filemgmt? I have changed php.ini settings, but this does not seem to help.

when you speak of imagex file settings, Dirk, which upload option are you refering to? the 5 image upload options in advanceeditor or is this a tag? I have tried the 5 image options in advance editor but they do not seem to work either.

I simply would like to ad a few images, occasionally, to a story or as needed.

thanks for the input.

Imagemagic or gdlib is being needed for scaling down a too large image.

The [imageX] tags are within Geeklog's story editor. What errors did you have there?

As Markus said, those are only needed when you want images to be scaled down. If you upload images within the size (both pixel and byte size) limits, then you won't need an image library.

That refers to the 5 image upload buttons (you can change that number, too, btw).

Can't remember if the File Management plugin has an upload limit. Check its config file.
