I am quite new to geeklog and have no idea how to change the theme?

Damn, need to update the FAQ ... Mr. Green

For the site and new users: Configuration > Geeklog > Theme, first dropdown.

For the current user (personal preferences override site settings): My Account > Layout & Language

there is only one theme in default, i want some different themes to install in my forum

Head over to our demo site and follow the link to the Visual Switcher on the left. It'll let you try out available themese and point you to their download locations.
