Hi, I've run a Geeklog site for a fair while but have never installed a media gallery. Decision decisions. The Geeklog FAQ lists these as some options: http://www.geeklog.net/faqman/index.php?op=view&t=8 Basically I'm looking for advice from general users. GL2Bridge looked sexy but when I started reading about needing Gallery2 and all its options I started thinking it would be a fair bit of installation and potentially a lot of maintenance considering I really want something that I can install and forget about mostly (I guess we all do). On the other hand Media Gallery is a glFusion product so is that likely to be maintained for Geeklog? Any general advice on what would be easy but still maintained? Basically I'd like to be able to collect photos only at this stage. Maybe other media but then I'm not likely to have the bandwidth to host video etc. Cheers, Brett

There's no difference in updates since all of these authors quit their Geeklog plugins' development (and probably Geeklog itself) years ago. Therefore, you might as well stick with the last Geeklog version of Media Gallery, which is the best of them and also the most likely (read: above 0% chance) to have a new developer down the line. And if nothing else, it's also the newest of them (relatively).

Didn't Ben (aka Cordiste) from geeklog.fr pick up Media Gallery support for Geeklog? Or at least he was looking into it, IIRC.

And the Gallery plugin is also still maintained, from what I remember.

bye, Dirk

I based my statement on your plugin's forum link within that FAQ. And there's no need to curse.

Yeah some of the info floating around was out of date so I wasn't sure.

So looks like I can still choose between them. I'll probably go Media Gallery just because I'm guessing it'll be simpler to maintain long term. Not a complaint about G2Bridge, I'm just trying to get something going with minimum effort.

Thanks for all the replies.
