Upgrade installation error for spamx

Sheila

Anonymous
I'm trying to upgrade from version 1.3.9 to the latest (1.5.2 ?) and I am getting this error:

1146: Table 'xthinkspot-geeklog.gl_spamx' doesn't exist

workarounds?

Thanks,
Sheila

OK, I started all over.

Main thing, is I don't want to mess with my current install.

So, I made a new directory, geeklog2_html, in my public_html directory and copied the entire contents of my current geeklog html files into that directory. Ditto for the admin/config files outside of the web root. Copied in all the new files into the appropriate directories. Copied all the config files from current geeklog into the new directories.

Made a copy of my database and set to run the upgrade in these new directories and with the copy of the database. I'm upgrading from 1.2.9 to 1.5.2.

I'm getting this error now:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_spx_ver() in [path/to/]geeklog/sql/updates/mysql_1.3.9_to_1.3.10.php on line 210

Help?

Hmm, that looks like a bug. Open that file and in line 210, change the "get_SPX_Ver" to "get_SP_Ver", i.e. remove the 'X'. Then try again.

I guess we haven't had anyone trying to upgrade from such an old version in a while ...

bye, Dirk

Thanks, Dirk. I did that. Now I'm back to the previous error that I posted originally
1146: Table '[databasename].gl_spamx' doesn't exist

The first time I did the "upgrade" install, I didn't follow all the directions carefully, so...
But now I have been being very careful to make sure that I copied all the proper files, the updated config.php files and so on...

Not sure where to go from here...

Okay, that change I suggested was nonsense - that would check for the version of the Static Pages plugin, not Spam-X. Sorry

I think that requires some debugging with real data. Would it be possible to get a copy of your database? I'll treat the contents confidential, of course.

bye, Dirk
