Need an Automated Way to Change Image Properties

I need to know if there is a way to do an automated mass change of image properties on my site.
I recently (today) changed the domain name for the site to a new primary. However the server that is hosting the site didnt change, all the files and databases, etc. are on their original disks -- it's simply a new domain.

Now I want to turn off the old domain, but when I do that I am going to have a bunch of broken story images.
Here is an example.

All the stories on my site that contain images (hundreds of them), currently look like this

http://OLDSITE.com/images/articles/20090426230819904_1.jpg

I need them to all look like this

http://NEWSITE.com/images/articles/20090426230819904_1.jpg

Export your entire DB in sql format, do a find/replace and re-import.
