Can you please explain what makes you think the one had anything to do with the other?
For the record: Geeklog doesn't phone home (unlike some other CMS). We don't know that your site exists, let alone your site's URL or your email address. We hate spam as much as everybody else (which is also why Geeklog ships with a spam filter).
bye, Dirk

For the record, Geeklog does check for updates but only if you click that. In theory you can log the referrer and its version.
Media Gallery, though being just an optional plugin, goes further and checks without even asking (but only in its main configuration screen).

That's correct. There are also links to pages on geeklog.net, the bugtracker, and the wiki, all of which we could theoretically track. But, as you said, you have to click on them. I meant to contrast this with other applications that immediately display an RSS feed or do a version check automatically.
And none of them would give us access to your email address.
bye, Dirk

That's not the same thing as they're just public links that could be used by anyone.

thanks Dirk, for your reply. I know this is my mistake, since I install gl for just 2 days and I forget to setup the Users and Submissions setting. that's why I get spammer email.
sorry for this post.
bye.
