Hello,

Seems you need to move the system/lib-portalparts.php file to your geeklog/system.

Without a forum, this install of Geeklog will be of no use to me. :banghead: After tediously wading through all the instuctions, :rtfm: I have it installed. The install from admin/plugins completed succesfully. Mr. Green I add the CSS declarations. But I am not seeing a Forum Admin link on the site Admin page. And I am getting the following errors in two blocks on the home page:

Forum Menu
Error in PHP Block. Function, phpblock_forum_menu, does not exist.

Forumposts
Error in PHP Block. Function, phpblock_forum_newposts, does not exist.

I can't see what else I need to do to fix this.

Running ver 1.5.1 of Geeklog (installed via CPanel at my site), d/l the forum plugin 2.7.2 from this site.

I would appreciate any help. :shakehands: FWIW, :blahblah: I am a bit disappointed that a Forum component is not standard with Geeklog as I like the look of the forums here and was hoping to get something close to that. I can replace Geek with Xoops but they're still using the old NewBB which is not my favorite. My CPanel has only phpBB and SMF for forum installs, and both are nice but probably overkill for my needs and limited space. I like the smilies here.

Hmm, that's odd. Not sure how it could report successful installation but then not find these two blocks.

When you go to the "Plugins" entry in your Admins block, is the Forum listed there? If so, try uninstalling, then reinstalling it from there.

bye, Dirk

This error line has two parts. The first part where it says - "main(/home/www/kwfs.info/V2/system/lib-portalparts.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory" means "I'm trying to find a file called lib.portalparts.php in that directory (system) but it's not there.

The second part is "@ /home/www/kwfs.info/V2/plugins/forum/functions.inc line 50" - if you check, that's the part of the program that gives the instruction to go find the lib-portalparts.php file.

So, these kinds of errors are common, and they occur when you have no placed the right file in the right place.

Thanks, Dirk. The uninstall (actually it was a "delete" meaning, I suppose, I would have to reupload all the files) failed with this:
[System message]
"There was an error"
And it is still in the installed plugin list.
Oh well....

P.S. I went ahead and installed UseBB in a subfolder and it is working fine and suits my purpose. I just need to tweak both it and GL to include links back and forth. GL is good for a news page as the site's home page. I'll post in another appropriate thread my next question.
