I would like to change the position of the "read more" link.
I've already changed it to say "Click Here To Read The Full Article" (in the Language / english.php file) but I would like to change the place where this appears.
I would like to have this link appear at the very end of the text of the introduction paragraph, instead of in the footer or at the bottom.
I made this change under GL 1.4.1 but the hack didn't survive the upgrade.
How can I change where the "read more" link appears to place it at the end of the text of the introduction paragraph?
Thanks much.

Obviously you'll have to do whatever you did back then, and hack it again and again after each upgrade. Just like you modify the text after each upgrade.
Alternatively, submit a feature request, but only if you have a strong case to think this would improve Geeklog in general. But in that case, write what you did back then, and fake the wanted "future look" with a painting program (the tracker allows attachments).

Actually, there have been many fundamental structural changes from GL 1.4.1 to GL 1.6.1 so I want to make sure that I'm modifying the correct file in the right way.
I don't think the structure is the same (as in - the names of the files used to render the intro paragraph). And, I just wanted to be sure.
In any case, thanks for your input.

You mean like {story_introtext} {readmore_link} ?
That may look confusing at first but works as described: On the index page, you get the read more text directly after the intro text. On the article page, you get the entire text and the read more link will disappear.
bye, Dirk

Right, that's it.
In the storytext.thtml file I changed line 14 to read:
{story_anchortag_and_image}{story_text_no_br}{readmore_link}
and then removed the {readmore_link} from line 18.
I have another question. I would like to add two spaces between the end of the text and the "read more" link. What do I have to put in to make that happen?
Also (FYI) I had to make the same changes to the featuredstorytext.thtml file.

Add two entities. They'll end up at the end of the entire story on the article page, where they shouldn't matter.

Of course. And if you're using an archive topic, you'll also have to make the same changes in archivestorytext.thtml
