GL 1.6.1
I have this setup as "not ready for public consumption" (single user/contributor/me) site.
I notice that if I logout and try a search, it wants me to register (Disabled) or Login.

How can I let guests search my stories?
Anonymous has R everywhere too.

Search Login Required? is set to No...

The option "Login Required?" (the first in the list) takes precedence over all the following options. So if you want to make the search available, set this to "False" and set all the others separately to the values you want.
