I'm using the current release of GL, with what I believe is the most recent version of File Management - 1.5.3. When I use GL's search function, files in the File manager are listed, but clicking on the links don't take me to the files.
Search results for Lorem ipsum wouldl look something like this:

1. Lorum ipsum (linked to story with search terms highlighted )
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Donec ultrices felis non odio varius egestas. Vivamus lorem libero, vehicula tristique ullamcorper a, facilisis sed ipsum. Phasellus facilisis ipsum eu purus viverra in accumsan ligula porttitor. Nunc in dictum magna. Nunc egestas, ...
on Thursday, March 11 2010 @ 08:17 CST - Story (linked to story with search terms highlighted)

2. Lorem ipsum dolor sit (linked to the search results page: http://mysite.com/search.php?query=Lorem+ipsum&type=all&mode=search# )
- File Listing (linked to another search results page: http://mysite.com/search.php?query=Lorem+ipsum&keyType=phrase&type=filemgmt&mode=search )

The links on the second search results page go no where - not 404'd, but just reloading the same page.

File Management is set so comments and anonymous uploads are disabled, but anon access is allowed.

I did find a post here on a problem with the search API and file management, but that was from when GL 1.6 was in beta.

Yes, that's the post I found. So, if I'm reading this right, the problems with the beta 1.6 search API made it into the release version of 1.6 and remain in 1.61?

Not complaining, mind you, just trying to get it straight in my head.

The problem is simply that the File Management plugins hasn't been updated in a while, sadly. You will have to add the updated search function from that discussion into your version.

Or am I missing something? We are running a stock 1.6.1 here on the site and a version of the File Management plugin with those changes and I'm not aware of any problems.

Okay, that makes MUCH more sense - File Manager not being updated rather than an bug fix being left out of a GL update.
