How to remove site statistics

How do I remove the link "site statistics" from being displayed?

Configuration > Geeklog > Theme > Theme > Menu Elements
Click on the "+" icon, find the entry for the site stats and click on the "x" behind it.
That only removes it from the menu but it's still accessible if you know the URL. You could also require people to be logged in to see it:
Configuration > Geeklog > Users and Submissions > Login Settings > Stats Login Required?

Removing the menu item doesn't stop someone editing the URL box to hit the stats page. You also might want to delete the stats.php file from public_html, too.
