Updating Geeklog?

My geeklog site was built three years ago. It has a customized style sheet and a modified calendar plug-in. How do I find what version of geeklog is active? If I update to the latest version, can I keep my present style sheet and calendar?

When you log in to your Geeklog site as a member of the Root group, you should see an option "GL Version Test" in your admin's block. The number behind that entry is the Geeklog version number. You can also see the version number on the "Submissions" page, in the title of the "Command and Control" block

New Geeklog releases usually require theme changes that you would have to apply to your theme. It's usually best to switch to the Professional theme during the upgrade process and then update your own theme, so you have a working fallback.

As for the Calendar changes: If you're already running a version where the Calendar was a plugin, you could skip the upgrade of the Calendar plugin during the upgrade process. Disclaimer: Haven't tried that myself yet ...

Alternatively, if you know what has been modified, you could re-apply those modifications after the upgrade.

bye, Dirk
