Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/s/j/t/sjtournaments/html/blab_sjt/system/lib-webservices.php on line 520

Geeklog 1.5.2
PHP 4.4.9
Apache 1.3.x
http://www.southjerseytournaments.com/phpinfo.php

Error occurs while trying to save/modify staticpage
This site has recently been moved to a different server than originally installed.
I compared lib-webservices.php to a new 1.8 version and they are nearly identical - So the issue will likely persist even w/ an upgrade.
I remember reading somewhere that libxml was flaky on older apache??

Any hints much apreciated

That looks like a bug. lib-webservices shouldn't be loaded on PHP 4, since it's full of PHP 5 code that the PHP 4 parser doesn't understand.

There's another PHP 4-related issue in static pages: http://project.geeklog.net/tracking/view.php?id=1330 that needs to be addressed. I've just set up a VM with PHP 4 and will look into these things once 1.8.0 is out the door.

bye, Dirk

Thanks, didn't even look into that since GL 1.5.x is php4 compatible.

I'll inform the user and see if his host can bump him up into the current century.
And maybe I can convince him to update to 1.8 while we're at it Wink

Missed the bit about Geeklog 1.5.2 (that happens when you try to answer posts while already being halfway out the door ...).

That particular bug should actually have been fixed in 1.6.0, according to the changelog.

bye, Dirk
