confused
I have 2 (almost) identical GeekLogs running.
Which, exept they are located in different folders, are identical in configuration.

One displays the all the articles, New forum posts etc. on the homepage.

The other one gives only the message "No Files... or no authorisation." (I am logged in as full admin)
I searched in all related items in configuration/Adminindex.

Anybody an idea where to look/change?

Grtz.

Are you getting only this message text (in an otherwise empty browser window) or is it wrapped in Geeklog's header/footer?

Geeklog doesn't have a message that contains the text "no files", so this may be coming from somewhere else. It could be a configuration issue with your webserver.

bye, Dirk

Sorry,
Poor translation from my side (my site is in Dutch)

(Next text: Do not take literally!! Translated)

Header: No news to show
Message: There are no new articles to show. There is no news under this theme or you are not authorised.

Right block also says: "no new articles".
- I made two article themes, and put an article in both. (made one theme default)
- I made forum categories, forum and put article in it.
- I made a static page.

As I said: the other GeekLog shows everything, and this one nothing. (no articles, forum and static page) in center page.

All other things are fine:
Header, Footer and left and right blocks are showing. So it is wrapped inside GeekLog.

Can you try logging in as another user? Does that make a difference?

Guest, Member, Admin.

Does not make a difference.

I do not understand...
I just copied the whole site into another sub folder.
Changed the graphics
changed the SQL- data.
Everything works fine, except the homepage

P.S.
And where can I stop all those security checks?

- I want to allow identical IP, EMAIL. So I can test!
- I want to stop lock-out after 3 attempts?

I do not manage Fort Knox.
I manage a simple game clan... no high risk secrets inside.
No paranoid webmaster/members.

It is likely that there is an error somewhere. Did you copy all files over again from 1 version? You can only try to do step by step troubleshooting.

No, identical emails are not possible.

I made 1 site fully functional and then downloaded it to my computer and then uploaded into the other subdomain.

Changed the SQL-settings, paths and Graphics.

(I know... should not be in public_html Neutral )

Subdomains may lead to problems. You may try to specify the cookie domain in the configuration menu.

/admin/configuration.php?tab-30#cookiedomain

If I remember correctly the cookie domain should be this:
/kappa.ninanauk.net/
/beta.ninanauk.net/

Find it in your configuration:
kappa.ninanauk.net/admin/configuration.php?tab-30#cookiedomain

Also the cookie domain is ninanauk.net but ought to be kappa.ninanauk.net
