IMG width front page different from article page

Hello!
First image in article in the introtext need to be set at one width to keep my frontpage at desired width. But once the article is opened, I would like the image width to expand to allow it to fill the page.
Anyone know a way to make the program alter the Img width tag so different size can be achived on front page and in the article? CSS, javascript, php?

I am assuming here that the article has a smaller size container (like a div) on the front page than the full page.
