How can you upgrade Forum Plugin
Dear Community,
I've got a problem and although I brought my Geeklog installation to version 2.1.1b1 and my forum plugin is still 2.9.0, but I want to upgrade to 2.9.1.
However upload the plugin ZIP in the plugin sector in Geeklog, is not working.
How do I upgrade the Forum plugin then?
About any help I would be grateful.

You may not have appropriate file permissions setup to be able to install plugins that way.
Manual instructions are included in the readme file found in the forum zip file but I will write a summary here.
First Backup your site.
Then disable the forum plugin in the Geeklog Plugin Administration
Depending on your setup the forum files are located in 3 directories:
your_site_root/plugins/forum/
your_site_root/public_html/forum
your_site_root/public_html/admin/forum
Since the forum had a number of file changes I would recommend deleting all the files and directories found in these 3 directories.
Once that is done then copy over the new files found in the forum zip file. The files in the zip admin directory go into:
your_site_root/public_html/admin/forum
The files in the zip public_html directory go into:
your_site_root/public_html/forum
and the rest of the files and directories in the zip file that you have not copied over yet go into:
your_site_root/plugins/forum/
Once you have copied everything over re-enable the forum plugin and then hit the update button that will appear next to the forum plugin in the Geeklog Plugin Administration.
That's it.
