Godaddy Install Theme and Database Issue

I'm almost ready to give up on Geeklog. But I really don't like the terribly ugly layout of any of the other CMS's out there.
I have manually installed Geeklog through Godaddy using FTP and CPanel. I've tried it both ways. Both times, the database backup through Geeklog's admin page hangs at 81% when it gets to Gl_tokens.
Also when I log into the Admin, the theme reverts to Denim and I lose my theme settings, even if I try to set it back to Denim_Curve.
I have tried several new installs, following all the instructions. I have set every single permission in the database that is allowable from cPanel MySQL. I suspect it might be a file permissions issue. I've hidden the system files in my home folder that is not accessible to public. I've put only the public HTML in my public folder.

I don't know why hangs in your site.
But Dbman plugin is nice. This plugin have auto backup system.
download:
https://github.com/Geeklog-Plugins/dbman
Theme is set each user and site default.
1) my acount page /usersettings.php?mode=edit layout
2) configuration theme

Yay! Thank you! That solved my problem. I logged in as Admin and went to "My account" and changed the theme under the "Layout & Language" tab. Now the theme stays the same all the time.
I almost abandoned Geeklog because I thought the randomly changing Theme was a bug.
Do you know how to change the article timeout? After an hour or so I have to re-login to post an article that I am typing.
Any idea why my database backup would hang up at "gl_tokens?"

Please change theme setting mode
Configuration - Users and Submissions
Allow User Themes (False)

php.ini is not included in Geeklog.

Dbman plugin is very useful.
Auto database backup function by using Geeklog CRON.
